Discover reflective strips in workwear: What are they and what are they for?

In workwear, reflective bands are an essential component, but do we really know their function and importance?

Reflective bands, made with a special film reflecting light thanks to glass spheres or artificial prisms, play a fundamental role in safety at work. They improve visibility both during the day, in low visibility conditions, and at night.

Types of reflective strips: Exploring their characteristics

  1. Sewn-on reflective strips: Sewn-on reflective strips are attached to the garment by stitching. These bands offer exceptional quality and resistance to washing. However, on less rigid garments such as T-shirts or polo shirts, they can be somewhat uncomfortable due to their lack of elasticity. That's why at Seana Textil we don't sew the band to the seam, to allow for greater movement and flexibility.
  2. Heat-sealed segmented reflective strips: These reflective strips are divided into segments and adhered to the garment by heat instead of seams. This provides several benefits:
  • Comfort: They fit perfectly to the body and the movements of the wearer.
  • Flexibility: Thanks to the segmented cuts, they allow the fabric to stretch and move freely. They fit naturally, without compromising comfort.
  • Breathability: They allow air to pass through and facilitate body perspiration, contributing to the wearer's comfort during long working days.

At Seana Textil we understand the importance of offering quality work wear that prioritizes safety and comfort for workers. Our garments incorporate state-of-the-art reflective bands to guarantee maximum visibility and protection in any work environment.
